- People are frequently asking me, "Taylor, what goes on in your head...." Here is your chance if you have ever wondered this obscure question. You get to read about what I am thinking, feeling, and seeing. My thoughts can be interesting at times so I hope you are ready for the adventure.
- The social networks that I am on now, or that I have previously used, just are not doing it for me anymore.
- The very first social network I became a part of was Xanga. Oh, the good ol' Xanga days where I thought that everyone in the world wanted to hear exactly what I did, every hour, minute, and second of everyday. I guess you could sort of call Xanga my first attempt at blogging. As much as I'm sure you want this to be like the Xanga I had in the 7th grade, I will not be dwelling to much on my personal and social life in this blog.
- The next social network endeavor I chose to take on was MySpAcE, because all the cool kids were doing it. The only enjoyable factor to Myspace, was seeing who wrote on my wall, and whose top friends I was on. Top friends on Myspace however could be a potential whole other blog post.
- Facebook I still use frequently I suppose, mainly to keep up with what is happening with my Sorority, or my friends who attend different colleges. However, if I wanted to express myself at a deeper level on facebook, I don't think I could get it out in 160 characters or less.
- Which leads me to Twitter. 140 characters or less? I can barely let my followers know what I ate for lunch with that many letters. That my friends, is why blogger has become my next form of communicating my thoughts, opinions and expertise to the outside world.
- While studying at the University of Illinois, I am constantly attending lectures by successful people who live, and work out in the real world. These people keep telling me the same things over and over again that I need to do to become successful, network, tweet, and write a blog.
Which reminds me of a quote said by Frederick B. Wilcox, "Progress always involves risks. You can't steal second base and keep your foot on first."
